Robert Mirowski, one of the closest disciples of Master Sando Kaisen, is responsible for transmitting Master Sando Kaisen´s teachings in Ostrava and since 2012 also in Pilsen.
Robert was born in 1970 in a small village of Tarnowa, but he spent most of his life in Krakow. He became a plumber and then spent 15 years working in this profession.
He became interested in Zen when he met the disciples of Master Sando Kaisen who came in 1992 to teach the zazen meditation to students of martial arts at the academy of jiu-jitsu, which he practiced at that time.
It was then that he started to come regularly to meditations in the Krakow dojo and began to devote fully to practicing Zen. A few years later he decided to commit to transmitting zazen completely and asked Master Sando Kaisen for a monk ordination. He received it in 2000 under the name of Masho – The Eye of Life.
He has often accompanied his Master during his missionary travels, and was one of the disciples who established a new Zen temple in Poland in 2003. He lived in this monastery for three years till the end of its existence. In 2006, he moved to Ostrava in order to lead meditations and sesshins (retreats) and transmit the teachings of our Master here.
Robert is single and has no children. At the moment he makes his living by sowing meditation tools and clothes.
